Yesterday, Shireland Hall celebrated our diverse heritage by holding our very own Geography Day!
Through discussing where the children and their parents were born, we found out that our collective heritage is from 70 countries across the world.
- 336 have Asian heritage
- 313 have European heritage
- 67 have North American heritage (mostly the Caribbean islands)
- 64 have African heritage
- 6 children have South American heritage
- 2 children have Australian or New Zealand heritage
As well as becoming ‘geographers’ for the day, we also took part in a flag parade around the school. In addition, some parents came in to school for an afternoon tea, each bringing food to share.
