We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Wellbeing Leader and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our team and contribute towards our continued success as Shireland Hall moves from strength to strength following our recent ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted judgement.

The successful applicant will work in partnership with other pastoral leaders (DSL, SMHL, SENDCo, Attendance Lead etc.) to ensure that the wellbeing and welfare of our 600+ pupils aged 3-11, are monitored and supported. This will involve leading the dedicated team of experienced professionals that ensures effective child protection, safeguarding, family support and mentoring work is in place across the school.
At Shireland Hall we believe that preventative education is a critical tool for keeping children safe. The role will involve close collaboration with curriculum leaders and teachers to ensure that our children get a robust and appropriate education in understanding and managing their own safety and wellbeing. In addition, the post holder will lead on educating parents and carers about risks that their children may face and how they can help to protect them.
The post-holder will be expected to provide an excellent example of professional practice as a leader; to embed the school’s vision and values and secure sustained school improvement, which raises pupil welfare and achievement.

Candidates must have previous experience within the field of education and social services/welfare including knowledge of submitting MARF referrals, child protection record keeping and working with parents and other specialist agencies.

Grade: Starting Salary of £30,984 (Band F points 26 – 31)
Hours: 37 hours per week (hours are negotiable), 52 weeks per year.
Special Conditions: Must be able to work during term time, annual holiday must be taken during the school holiday period, generous holiday allocation.
