Yesterday, a group of Year 6 children who are working towards their Art Award visited Wolverhampton Art Gallery. The purpose of the trip was to view an exhibition called ‘A Curious Turn’ which included 30 pieces of moving, mechanical automaton. The children discovered that art comes in many different forms: portrait, abstract and sculpture.
As part of their Art Awards, they need to study a specific artist so we used this trip to explore work by different people to find any that they would like to research further. Children had the opportunity to get hands on with activities and some of the exhibitions as well!
