Admissions
If you wish to apply for a place at Shireland Hall Primary Academy for your child, please see the relevant section below depending on the age of your child. All prospective parents are encouraged to contact school to book a place on our next Open Day or to request a visit.

Mid-Year Admissions Process
If you would like your child to move to Shireland Hall Primary Academy from another school, in any year group other than during the first term of Reception, the following process applies:
1. Download and complete our 'Primary School Application' mid-year transfer application form (below)
2. Return either a hard copy or electronic version of the completed form to the academy. Electronic forms should be emailed to shpadmissions@gbshp.org
3. The Academy identifies whether a place is available in the relevant year group
If a place is available and there is only one applicant, the academy will offer the place
If no places are available, the academy will decline the application and add the child to the waiting list for that year group
When a place becomes available in a year group and there is more than one applicant on the waiting list, the school admissions policy for that academic year (see below) will be applied to determine which application is successful. Please note - places are allocated in line with the published admissions policy, NOT the date of application.
3. When a place is offered, the academy will make contact with parents or carers to arrange for full pupil admission details to be collected, an induction visit to be arranged and a start date to be agreed. Home visits are also carried for children who do not already have any siblings in school.
4. Waiting lists are re-set each September. If your child is on the waiting list and has not been offered a place by the end of the academic year, the application will need to be re-submitted at the start of the next academic year in order to remain on the waiting list.
If you have any queries, or require any further information please contact shpadmissions@gbshp.org
